The Project for Preparing Roma high school students for enrolling in the Medical faculties in Republic of Macedonia gains great media attention through the articles published by several local media. This project funded by REF-Roma Education Fund and implemented by CIRa aims to contribute in the professional development of the medical personnel among the Roma population and to increase the level of representation of Roma students at the medical faculties.
Srdzan Amet, coordinator of the program: "For the second year we are implementing the program in Macedonia, and as in previous year, the main goal is to motivate Roma studying in medical schools to continue their education and enroll in the Medical Faculty, thereby enabling improvement of the access to health services for Roma. With this project we believe that we will encourage other Roma to continue their education, which will result with increased number of Roma doctors, and thus will change the stereotypes that are governed for Roma”
