Beneficiaries of the Project Grants Programme include civil society organisations for implementation of the cooperative projects that have the objective of creating turning-points in the development of Macedonian society and are focused on the following areas:decentralisation, good governance, advocacy and lobbying, participation, transparency and accountability and/or interethnic dialog. The cross-cutting issues that are taken into consideration are gender equality and interethnic cooperation.

The projects shall receive financial support accordingly, only if they include project activities that are in accordance with the objectives of CIVICA Mobilitas:

  • enhance the quality of services of the local authorities
  • raise transparency, reporting and good governance
  • promote and develop the interethnic dialog in all areas of society
  • promote better communication skills; supervise the work of the local authorities, more specifically, how are the principles of equal access, unbiased distribution, non-discrimination and efficiency in providing public services
  • supervise the financial, budget and accounting practices in the public finances, as well as encourage and support the corporate social responsibility in the private sector
  • projects dealing with improvement of the interethnic relations institution-wise

The duration of the project activities applying for a grant, shall not exceed the period of one year.

The civil sector organisations may be awarded with more than one grant during the Programme, depending on the type of the necessary interventions, however, only one grant can be awarded at a time.

This Programme instigates the civil sector organisations to establish strategic relations with various stakeholders, especially the stakeholders from the local communities in order to obtain additional support for the implementation of the activities.

Having in mind the decentralisation process, which is growing with great speed and the lack of citizen’s participation, whereas ethnic division grows bigger, CIVICA Mobilitas shall focus its activities on allocating grants to civil society organisations which are basically attempting to address these very issues.

CIVICA Mobilitas gives priority and assistance to organisations that are striving to implement the two cross-cutting issues (gender equality and interethnic relations) into their own structure, approaches and activities.
