Community Development Institute (CDI)
CDI’s experience is based on 15-year work in the community addressing citizens’ issues and needs and helping to overcome them. Up to now, CDI has, whether independently or in partnership with the various ethnic communities, implemented several projects in the following areas:
- Building trust and confidence measures between the different ethnic communities
- Community assistance and development
- Strengthening the partnership between the Local Government, citizens’ associations, political parties and the media
- Community development and unemployment reduction
- Ecology and sustainable development

The Community Development Institute - Tetovo focuses on increasing the mutual trust and tolerance between people of different ethnic communities, improving the population’s living conditions and standard and strengthening the partnership between the Local Government, citizens’ associations, political parties and the media.
The Association’s 2011 Program Activities are aimed at:
- Supporting the decentralization process and observing the rights of non-majority communities
- Strengthening CDI’s capacities and structure
- Increasing CDI’s self-sustainability and competitiveness

IZBOR (CHOICE)
The NGO “IZBOR” is a non-governmental, non-profit and non-party organization established in 1997 as a result of the community’s growing needs for response and assistance in reducing the harmful effects of drug use, such as prevention of HIV, Hepatitis B and C and other infectious diseases spreading, which are characteristic of the target groups due to their risky behavior, thereby fighting against the dangerous marginalization, labeling and abuse of fundamental human rights by creating new coalitions and partnerships.
The NGO “IZBOR” accomplishes its goals through various project activities worked on by an expert team which has attended a number of seminars and training events, and participated in study visits in the country and abroad, and which consists of professional psychologists, psychiatrists, medical doctors, social workers, lawyers, sociologists, journalists and artists, as well as young people, volunteers and activists, present and former drug users, who are involved at all levels of Association’s decision-making and work.
The NGO “Izbor” is implementing its 2011 Program activities aimed at:
- Realization of an integrated approach among the vulnerable groups’ representatives in the Strumica region.
- Harm reduction in intra-venous drug users (IDUs).
- Awareness-raising among Local Government representatives and other institutions of the system closely related to this area.
- Acceptance, treatment and learning skills in creative workshops
- Implementation of the Rehabilitation and Re-integration Program in the Therapeutic Community Pokrov.
- Increasing the capacities of accommodation in the Therapeutic Community Pokrov.
- Increasing the Organization’s capacities
- Exercising target group representatives’ human rights
- Free legal aid to persons whose rights were violated by the police
- Sensitizing the public and media presentation
The target group is all psycho-active substance users who have had drug-use problems for a longer period of time, and who have had more unsuccessful detoxification attempts and failed to reach a stable state. That group comprises the persons who had previously attended the other Programs of the Organization: Needle-exchange Program and Methadone Program, as well as persons from other cities, regions even neighboring countries.
Izbor’s Annual Program value amounts to MKD 6,002,270.00 and the support within CIVICA Mobilitas amounts to MKD 2,666,400.00
KHAM Delcevo
KHAM from Delcevo is a non-governmental, non-party and non-profit organization established by free association of a group of citizens for the purpose of raising the educational level and improving the socio-economic status of marginalized groups, as well as strengthening the capacities of NGOs from the East Bregalnica Region in cooperation with both domestic and foreign organizations and institutions.
KHAM - Delcevo strives for development and promotion of Civil Society and democracy in the Eastern Region and for more successful monitoring of Local Government Bodies in their service provision, accountability and direct cooperation in public policy-making and awareness-raising.
KHAM - Delcevo is implementing its 2011 Program Activities aimed at:
- Institutional strengthening of KHAM - Delcevo’s capacity and preserving the leadership primacy in the East Bregalnica Region.
- Development and promotion of Civil Society and democracy in the Eastern Region for more successful monitoring of Local Government Bodies in their service provision, accountability and direct cooperation in public policy-making and awareness-raising.
- Operationalization and institutionalization of Local Action Plans systematized in the Municipal Program accepted by the Municipal Council of Delcevo on 29 December 2008.
- Protection of marginalized groups and multiple vulnerability families.
- Financial sustainability of KHAM - Delcevo and diversification of its financial resources.
KHAM’s target groups are as follows:
· Municipal Administration and Municipal Council Members of Delcevo, Berovo, Vinica and Pehcevo
· KHAM - Delcevo (Members and staff of NGO KHAM)
· Marginalized groups in the area of Delcevo Municipality
· Citizens of Delcevo Municipality.
NGO KHAM’s Annual Program value amounts to MKD 5,159,400.00 and the support within CIVICA Mobilitas amounts to MKD 1,674,852.00
Rural Development Network of the Republic of Macedonia
The Union of Civic Associations “Rural Development Network of the Republic of Macedonia - RDN” was set up in March 2010 in Skopje as a movement organized on a national level with the aim to give a voice to rural communities in the Republic of Macedonia. The animation of potential members and joining RDN is a continuous process.
RDN’s goal is to demonstrate a structured approach to mobilizing rural communities become stronger advocates for rural development, as well as participate in rural policies on local, regional, national and EU levels. It covers establishment of efficient cooperation and mutual help between individuals and organizations in rural areas, with the aim to ensure efficient representation of the needs, voice and interests of rural population and flow of information between governmental and non-governmental bodies at all levels.
In 2011, RDN’s focus will be put on the following two priority areas:
I) LEADER approach (links between rural development actions)
Priority areas will be covered by the following goals set:
- Capacity building of all three sectors (public sector, Civil Society and business sector) at the local level in Local Action Groups (LAG) and development of LEADER using the area-based approach, as well as development of local rural development strategies
- Programming and technical assistance for Municipal Teams in their attempts to identify, design and implement a given project, which has been proposed in each of the selected Municipalities’ Rural Development Strategy.
II) Economic empowerment of rural women
- Building Members’ capacities to support women in rural areas
Beneficiaries: Civil Society, business sector, governmental institutions and Local Government acting in rural areas
Target group: Rural communities’ stakeholders from the public sector, business sector and Civil Society (rural population, civic organizations acting in rural areas, farmers, small enterprises acting in rural areas, Public Administration employees etc.)

Community Development Center - Kicevo
The Citizens’ Association “Community Development Center Kicevo” (CDC Kicevo) is a non-governmental and non-profit organization established in December 2006 by transforming the NGO Support Center Kicevo into an independent entity.
The Center focuses on encouraging the citizens to participate actively in the development of their local community and create a climate of effective inter-ethnic cooperation, as well as set up partnerships between the non-governmental organizations, business sector and Local Government.
CDC Kicevo’s strategic goals are as follows:

Open Gate - La Strada Macedonia
Open Gate - La Strada Macedonia focuses on better approaches to human trafficking victims, offering protection and help to victims and marginalized groups, and public awareness raising, education and strengthening the capacities for human trafficking prevention.
La Strada’s basic goal is to improve women’s position, promote women’s rights including the right to emigrate and work overseas, and protect women from violence and abuse.
Open Gate - La Strada Macedonia is implementing Program Activities in 2011 aimed at:
- Better approaches to human trafficking victims by implementing the Program for Protection, Help and Respect of Human Rights of Victims and Marginalized Groups
- Public awareness raising, education and strengthening the capacities for human trafficking prevention
- Proper treatment of human trafficking victims through social and economic empowerment of and service provision to potential and real human trafficking victims
- Strengthening the Organization’s sustainability

Multikultura (Multi-culture) Tetovo
The Association Multikultura was established in August 2000, initiated by a group of young enthusiasts of different ethnicities living in the city of Tetovo and motivated to promote the civic concept and multi-ethnic society as a value in our country.
The Association Multikultura strives for building a democratic society through appropriate tolerance and inter-ethnic cooperation, and creating the necessary conditions for youth cultural and other activities’ development.
Multikultura has implemented over forty projects in different areas such as culture, youth, fight against human trafficking, displaced persons, courses for young people, anti-discrimination, rule of law etc.
In 2011, Multikultura implements Program Activities aimed at:
- Enhancing the capacities of staff in culture institutions in Tetovo and developing the 2011-2013 Tetovo Culture Strategy and Action Plans
- Providing mentor classes in the Municipality of Tetovo’s 4 primary schools where the number of Roma is higher than in the other primary schools

Akcija Zdruzenska
Akcija Zdruzenska is a non-profit organization established in July 2004, with its head office in Skopje, within the strategic transformation of the Women’s Program of the Open Society Institute Foundation - Macedonia. Its work is grounded on multi-year experience in developing and implementing programs for women’s movement promotion and development.
The founders of Akcija Zdruzenska are activists with long experience in women’s NGO sector coming from different towns in Macedonia and having different professions and ethnicities. Akcija Zdruzenska and its membership have adopted and followed the principles of professionalism, responsibility, solidarity, equal opportunities, transparency and cooperation.
In 2011, Akcija Zdruzenska is implementing Program Activities aimed at:
- Developing tools for operationalization of the Law on Equal Opportunities of Women and Men
- Amendments and addenda to the Law on Equal Opportunities of Women and Men
- Promotion of gender analysis as a tool for creating measures and implementing policies in the area of social inclusion

ANTIKO
Women’s Civic Initiative Antiko is an inter-ethnic, dynamic women’s civic initiative of female leaders and activists of the women’s peace and feminist movement. It is a non-profit, feminist, strategic and lobby group which strives for promotion of peace culture and community building through public and social engagement of women from several ethnic communities.
Antiko is focused on peace building in the community, developing inter-ethnic relations, democratic processes and Civil Society.
Antiko’s Mission is promotion of peace culture and community building through public and social engagement of women from several ethnic communities. It accomplishes it Mission, Goals and Activities through its members and Antiko’s NGO Network, which has 18 multi-ethnic women’s groups working on human/women’s rights promotion and peace building in local communities of the Republic of Macedonia.
In 2011, ANTIKO is implementing Program Activities aimed at:
- Including gender perspective in policies and programs of local and central level institutions
- Political, social and economic empowerment of women - capacity building - encouraging, strengthening, educating and supporting women and marginalized groups to participate actively in social and economic processes
- Contribution to peace building through promotion of non-violence, multi-ethnic collaboration and affirmation of gender (feminist) ideology and policy in local and global frameworks.

Center for Civil Communications (CCC)
The Center for Civil Communications is a non-governmental, non-profit and non-party Citizens’ Association whose main mission is to improve and develop the communication between all social stakeholders in the Republic of Macedonia regarding the processes of broader social importance, and to observe, analyze and promote socio-political and economic processes in the country, primarily in the area of anti-corruption, local government and economic development.
The Center for Civil Communications accomplishes its mission through organizing and conducting surveys, analyses, monitoring, training events, seminars and forums, as well as through issuing reports, publications and operation manuals.
The main goals of Center for Civil Communications’ 2010 Annual Program, which arise from the Organization’s three-year 2009-2012 Strategic Plan, are as follows:
- Promoting the public procurement system in Macedonia to the end of greater transparency, competitiveness, equal treatment, non-discrimination, lawfulness, and economical, efficient, effective and rational use of budget funds
- Promoting the mechanisms for handling conflict of interests
- Increasing the trust and confidence among citizens and businesspeople in Local Authorities

CIVIL - Center for Freedom
Civil is dedicated to promotion, education and defense of human rights and freedoms, peace and tolerance, and arms control. In its effort to accomplish its goals and attitudes and to achieve its mission and vision, Civil uses various approaches and methods at its disposal, which depend on the circumstances and resources available. CIVIL finds the areas of inter-section and linkage between the three spheres mentioned above.
Civil successfully integrates the shared contextual and core aspects in the areas relating to human rights and freedoms, peace and tolerance (inter-ethnic relations) and arms control, as well as other relevant social problems and challenges. Therefore, each Project or Activity constituted and planned within CIVIL’s Program contains methodological approaches and solutions that also open up the other aspects of the central topic, i.e. the methodologies applied in one project can most often be implemented in different spheres.
In its Programs, CIVIL monitors and appropriately addresses the European Commission’s recommendations, Declarations and Agreements of the UN and other relevant international institutions, observance and implementation of the obligations arising from the international and national legislation in the country.
The different Projects in Civil’s Annual Program are in fact, a unified and complex whole, which is consequential, cohesive and internally connected.

Foundation for Local Development and Democracy “Focus”
The Foundation for Local Development and Democracy “Focus”, established in October 2006, is a non-governmental and non-profit organization working to support local development and democracy based on the principles of good Municipal Governance and responsible citizens.
FOCUS promotes democracy, local development and Civil Society, simultaneously striving to become a financially stable organization involved in the local, national and international cooperation networks. Focus develops and supports initiatives based on the principles of good Municipal Governance, and responsible citizens acting in the Municipalities of Veles, Gradsko, Lozovo and Caska.
The Foundation’s main goal is to build a sustainable model of citizens’ participation in the decision-making and development of the community, which will be applicable irrespective of the change of government.
The Foundation is fulfilling its goals by implementing program activities directed towards more accountable and more transparent operation of the Municipality, care for the children and youth, training and information of the citizens regarding how to exercise their rights in the community, encouraging civic initiatives etc. FOCUS will develop cooperation between citizens and Local Governments influence the deepening of the established partnerships and cooperation between the stakeholders and create conditions for citizens’ full participation.
The goals of FOCUS’s Annual Program are the following:
- Development, promotion and support of good governance practices
- Development of philanthropy awareness
- Institutional and program strengthening of the Organization

Foundation for Local Community Development Stip
The Foundation for Local Community Development Stip was set up in December 2006 and is the legal successor of the Center for NGO Support Stip.
The Foundation’s vision is to create an active Civil Society which will contribute to the development of a modern society based on social justice and equal opportunities for all citizens.
Their mission is to create conditions for Civil Society sustainability by building institutional capacities and encouraging local philanthropy.
The Foundation’s program components are: Institutional Capacity Building Program, Program for Community Partnerships and Local Democracy, and Philanthropy Program.
I) Institutional Capacity Building Program
Within this Program, training and consultations for NGOs and NGO networks are organized to strengthen their capacities, particularly for lobbying and advocacy, their mechanisms for public policy making and implementation, and their negotiation skills, which will enable them to establish as influential and long-term partners in community development.
II) Program for Community Partnerships and Local Democracy
Within this Program, public events (meetings, forums, workshops) are organized to encourage partnerships between the major players in the community and creation of a cooperation model between NGOs, Local Government and business sector for the purpose of shared responsibility among all stakeholders in terms of community development. Also, the Foundation convenes public events (forums and public debates) connected with initiatives for new legislation, Local Governments’ Programs and with monitoring the work of local institutions and encouraging greater citizens’ participation in the decision-making process at the local level.
III) Philanthropy Program
Within this Program, the first Community Foundation (CF) has been set up in the Republic of Macedonia. CF from Stip collects donations from local donors and returns them to the community in order to resolve its priority problems and needs.
The Foundation for Local Community Development Stip’s target groups are the following:
- Representatives of Municipal Administrations of altogether 19 Municipalities in the country
- Citizens from these Municipalities
- Representatives of local civic organizations
- Local business sector

Association for Emancipation, Solidarity and Equality of Women - ESE
The Association for Emancipation, Solidarity and Equality of Women - ESE, in the past 15 years since its establishment, has continuously developed and supported women’s leadership for the purpose of developing and exercising women’s human rights and social justice in our society.
In its operation, ESE is led by its commitment to problem solutions. By way of human rights promotion, they contributed to the enhancement of social and economic justice. They are focused on two goals – meet women’s urgent needs and influence the creation of sustainable, long-term changes.
In terms of continuing the successful cooperation in the activities implemented in 2010 at the local level, ESE will continue to work in the Municipalities of Kocani and Tetovo regarding the monitoring and analysis of the budgets dedicated to the issues of sexual and reproductive health, and domestic violence. With regard to introducing new concepts and new methodologies/tools, in 2011, ESE will start building its capacities for budget monitoring and analysis, and implement a strategic planning process to integrate budget monitoring and analysis in all spheres of ESE’s interest.
Also, in the course of 2011, ESE will start introducing the Program for Para-legal Assistance in Roma communities in the Municipalities of Suto Orizari and Delcevo, focusing on the right to health care. As traditionally, ESE will continue to provide the necessary help and support to the vulnerable categories of women. To that end, the Health Information Center, the Center for Legal Aid and the Psychological Counseling Center will be providing appropriate assistance and support to women/girls in the area of women’s health and women-victims of domestic violence. This year, the philanthropy development activities, in addition to individual philanthropy activities, will be expanded by activities for corporate philanthropy development. Also, part of the fund-raising activities will be organized at the local level in the Municipalities with which ESE collaborated in 2010 (the Municipalities of Kocani and Tetovo).
ESE’s target groups are as follows:
- Women/girls - victims of domestic violence
- Municipal Administrations and Councils of the Municipalities of Kocani and Tetovo
- Financial Operation Sectors on both central and local levels at: the Ministry of Finance; Budget and Finance Parliamentary Commission; and State Audit Office
- Civic organizations

Center for Sustainable Community Development Debar (CSCD)
The Center for Sustainable Community Development Debar is a Citizens’ Association whose action mission is: Regional sustainable development through community mobilization for sustainable use of local resources and support in Euro-integration processes.
CSCD Debar’s Program coverage aims at: decentralization, inter-ethnic relations, good governance, lobbying and advocacy, transparency and accountability, and minorities’ rights.
Its Annual Work Program is implemented based on the already defined activities:
- Civil activism capacity building of the Civil Society by encouraging participation in all spheres of interest to the citizens
- Encouraging and developing inter-ethnic dialogue among youth
- Increasing the reputation of the Center for Sustainable Community Development as a messenger/champion of the civic voice in the region
- Encouraging inter-ethnic cooperation
- Activities for promotion of sustainable development and environment
The target groups of this Citizens’ Association are the following:
- Local NGOs

POLIO PLUS – Movement against Handicap
POLIO PLUS is an organization established in 2000, in Skopje.
The mission of Polio Plus is aimed at essentially connecting the disabled persons with their fundamental rights and freedoms, and equal opportunities, which surely is their fundamental human right; public awareness-raising in terms of disabled persons and their integration in the broader social community for the purpose of overcoming their discrimination and marginalization.
Their main activities are as follows:
- change of legislation
- education and development of abilities and work skills as a basis for employment
- public awareness raising and alerting the citizens
- consultations and training on non-governmental organizations.
Polio Plus will continue to implement its vision and 2008-2015 Strategy by:
- advocacy and lobbying for legislation change
- promotion and encouragement of employment and independent livelihood of disabled persons
- public awareness raising and
- affirmation of disabled persons’ creativity and contribution to the community.
Polio Plus has several Programs where it works on accomplishing its mission: Legal Program, Economic and Educational Program, Civic Program, Social Program, Public Awareness Program, and Cross-Program Activities (to mobilize funds from individual donations and business and public sector donations).
Polio Plus’s target groups are the following:
- Government institutions
- Republic of Macedonia’s Parliament Members
- Local Government Units of Cair, Veles, Negotino and Prilep
- Civic organizations of disabled people

Center for Performing Arts Multi-media
The Center for Performing Arts Multi-media from Skopje is a socio-cultural center where innovative arts, public debates, educational programs and socially engaged work join together to provide a platform for free expression to all different groups living in the Republic of Macedonia, and to foster the new forms of participatory culture.
CPA MULTI-MEDIA was established in 2000 as an independent civic association in the area of culture in Macedonia. It is one of the first organizations of this type in the region. All Organization’s activities are focused on fostering or building social values produced by art and culture, which virtually imply the values of democratic living. CPA Multi-media is dedicated to establishing higher professional standards in transferring knowledge and experience, and impregnating them in its activities of innovative arts, public debates, research, education, life-long learning and social engagement.
Their main activities are: trainings, seminars, presentations, lectures, public debates, conferences, surveys, lobbying, discussions and publications.
Organization’s goals:
- Influence a broader cultural and social context on both national and regional levels (influence in participatory culture policy-making);
- Assist local authorities in their local policy-making and networking in international networks (cooperation with other cities and international institutions);
- Influence inter-culture dialogue building in the Republic of Macedonia;
- Carry out a survey in the culture sector and develop collaborative connections with the region and EU;
- Develop own organizational capacities (human and financial capacities).
2011 CPA Multi-media’s goals will be accomplished through:

CPA Multi-media’s target groups are managers and culture workers in national and local culture institutions and administration, professional artists, informal art groups and culture operators, socially disadvantaged children and young people, sub-culture and marginalized groups etc.

Consumers’ Organization of Macedonia
Consumers’ Organization of Macedonia - COM was established in 1996 as a Citizens’ Association and its mission is to act in the realization of comprehensive consumers’ protection under the market conditions of the Republic of Macedonia. In the past period (1996-2009), COM worked on developing consumer law and policies, as well as on information, education, counseling and advocacy on consumers’ interests.
The Organization performs its activity acting in the following fields:
- Supporting the process of harmonization with the EU consumers’ law and implementation of the legal framework in the area of consumers’ protection by informing and educating the citizens and specific target groups that implement the legal framework in a professional fashion.
- Supporting the process of consumers’ protection institutionalization in Local Government Units;
- Improving the consumers’ protection legal framework and its implementation in the area of services of public interest and financial services.
Accomplishing its mission, COM has had close cooperation with the competent government bodies, other non-governmental organizations and electronic and print media in the past period.
2011 Program objectives have been designed as follows:
- Supporting the process of harmonization with the EU consumers’ law and implementing the legal framework in the area of consumer protection through information and education of citizens and specific target groups that implement the legal framework in a professional fashion
- Supporting the process of consumers’ protection institutionalization in Local Government Units
- Enhancing consumers’ protection legal framework and its implementation in the area of services of public interest and financial services.
COM’s target group is the citizens of the Republic of Macedonia of all ages. The 2011 Program additionally identifies a specific target group - Members of Consumers’ Protection Councils in LGUs.

Youth Cultural Center – MKC
Youth Cultural Center - Bitola (MKC Bitola) is a youth non-profit civic organization established in 1997, and officially registered in 1999. The mission of MKC Bitola is unification and development of youth creative potential and encouragement of civic activism.
In the long continuous development of the Center, a lot of energy and funds have been invested to operate efficiently in the field of cultural, youth and volunteer programs’ development. By continuous investments in upgrading the skills and potentials of its members, MKC-Bitola has turned into one of the leading youth organizations in Bitola and the Republic of Macedonia.
2011 Program Goals are the following:
- Sustainable development of a Volunteering Center of Macedonia
- Enhancing and strengthening youth skills
- Support and encouragement of civic initiatives and campaigns
- Support and affirmation of urban culture
MKC will be accomplishing these goals through the three main programs it will work on, which are the following:
- Volunteering and Informal Education
- Civil Society
- Culture
MKC - Bitola’s direct target group is the young people in the Republic of Macedonia. By the implementation of programs within the South-east Europe Youth Network and the International Volunteering Service, their indirect target group is also the young people of other European countries.

Humanitarian Organization MIR (PEACE)
The Humanitarian Organization MIR from Skopje is a Citizens’ Association established by free and voluntary association of citizens for the purpose of exercising, protecting and harmonizing their interests and rights and performing activities to improve Roma’s status in the Republic of Macedonia.
The Humanitarian Organization MIR focuses on lobbying and advocacy for Roma’s rights at public institutions, serves as a mediator in acquiring the right to health care and social protection, and works on enhancing the socio-economic status of ethnic communities by way of employment, upbringing, education and inter-ethnic cooperation.
The Humanitarian Organization MIR is a member of the Union of Children’s Non-governmental Organizations, the Network “Under the Same Sun”, RH - Roma Network, and actively collaborates with the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Ministry of Health, Medical Clinic of Skopje, Republic Institute for Health Protection, Cair Local Government, “Vasil Glavinov” Primary School, “Snezana” Kindergarten, Skopje Red Cross and NGOs.
In accordance with its new strategic organizational goals and 2011 Annual Program Plan, the Humanitarian Organization MIR will cover the following goals:
- Involving a higher number of Roma in the educational process and ensuring their educational continuity by advocating for them before the Local Government, Primary Schools and their parents.
- Improving the social protection and health care of Roma and other ethnic communities
- Raising and enhancing the relations, mutual respect and tolerance between Roma children and children of other communities in the Area of Topaana, as well as the multi-culture approach of adults in terms of upbringing and educational activities for children.
- Improving MIR’s sustainability by undertaking fund-raising activities from local sources.
HO MIR’s target groups are as follows:
- Pre-school and school children who have difficulties in their education
- Parents of children from marginalized communities
- Pre-school and primary school facilities’ staff in the Municipality of Cair
- The Ministries of Labor and Social Policy, Interior and Education
- Municipality of Cair Administration
- Companies

Coalition of Youth Organizations SEGA
The Initiative to set up a Coalition of Youth Organizations was started by the Youth Council - Prilep and two partner-organizations regarding the application and implementation of the Project “Youth National Action Plan”. In continuation of the process started, the Coalition of Youth Organizations “SEGA” was informally established on 20 January 2004 with the aim to contribute to the process of drafting and implementation of the National Youth Strategy of RM and help to meet youth’s needs. On 27 September 2004, a decision was made to formally register the Coalition as a Citizens’ Association.
The Coalition of Youth Organizations “SEGA” works on developing and implementing youth policies in RM, and inter-links and strengthens young people in order to improve their general status.
The 2011 Annual Program of the Coalition of Youth Organizations SEGA has been designed in line with the goals and objectives of the 2010-2012 Strategic Plan including the basic priorities of the National Youth Strategy of RM (NYS) and implementation of a part of the Action Plan for National Youth Strategy implementation. The Annual Program is based on external action regarding central and local government in their processes of initiating and passing legislation that regulates youth status, strengthening the capacities of youth sector in the Republic of Macedonia, informing the young people in the Republic of Macedonia, increasing youth participation in the policy-making and decision-making processes, as well as enhancing inter-culture dialogue among young people by their direct work and involvement.
SEGA’s 2011 objectives are the following:
- Initiation and implementation of legal regulations (on national and local levels) which contribute to improving young people’s life in RM
- Support of youth activism
- Increase of information and participation of young people in activities for resolving their problems
SEGA’s target groups are the following:
- Young people aged 10 - 30 years
- Local Governments
- Municipal Councils
- Government institutions (Youth and Sports Agency, Ministry of Education)
- Youth organizations
