The purpose of the "Community Forums" is to support participatory community development at local level by organizing six forum sessions and subsequent implementation of projects of the forum sessions. The program is funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), and is managed by the Coordination Unit of the forums (EKF) in collaboration with the Association of Local Government (ZELS). In the period May 2012 - October 2012 the Forum process in Valandovo municipality will be implement by the Center for Institutional Development - CIRa


For the purpose of the Forum, we announce selection of Co-Moderator who will be engaged for a period of 5 months, 10 days during the month, with flexible working hours.


The Co-moderato is assistant of the Moderator of the forum and Head of the Task Group. The task group is composed of 6-7 members and is responsible for the technical organization of the sessions.


Tasks, responsibilities and expected results:

  • Manage and coordinate with the Task group;
  • Organizing sessions, including recruitment of participants at the forum;
  • Organize and co-moderate the meetings between sessions;
  • Technical preparation of the training sessions (arranging the room for sessions, posters, equipment);
  • Coordinate the public relations activities at local level;
  • Preparation and storage of documents for and from the forum sessions and work between sessions (minutes, lists of participants, invitations, etc..)
  • Participation in the trainings organized by the EKF, CIRa and SDC;
  • Assist the Moderator during the sessions;
  • Preparation of monthly reports.

Qualifications and experience:

  • To be  resident of the municipality
  • University degree
  • English command
  • Active computer use (WORD, ECXEL, OUTLOOK)
  • Knowledge of the process of decentralization
  • Experience in working with NGOs
  • Experience in facilitation, coordination and reporting
  • Affinity for teamwork
  • Excellent communication skills

Vevcani’s Forum participants elected the project “Cultural and recreational places”

Vevcani_ForumiOn March 13th, citizens of the municipality of Vevchani had the opportunity to vote for their favorite project that will be realized within the Community Forum Programme.

The project “Cultural and recreational place” is the project that was elected by the forum participants. This project aims towards improving the conditions for realization of cultural and sport events in Vevchani.

The key focus in the Community Forum Programme implemented by CIRa and supported by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) is broader public participation in the decision making on local level. The Community Forum Programme has proved to be successful approach to support community ownership of local-self governance processes.

 

CIRa became member of the National Council for Development of Volunteerism in Macedonia

volonterstvozawebWe would like to announce that Center for Institutional Development- CIRa became member of the National Council for Development of Volunteerism in Macedonia. The first meeting was held on 21.02.2012 in the Ministry of labor and social policy.

This body aims to provide more successful planning and implementation of the goals and measures of the Strategy for promotion and development of volunteerism (2010-2015) and implementation of the Action Plan for volunteerism.

The National Council is multisectoral and consisted of members that are responsible for the implementation of the Strategy.  Additionally, the National Council is counting 9 members nominated from the Ministry of Labor and Social Policy, Ministry of Education, Agency for youth and sport, Unit for Cooperation with Non-Governmental Organizations under the General Secretariat of the Government, Association of the units of local-self government of the Republic of Macedonia and 4 representatives from the civil organizations. Ms Brankica Spasovska is representing the Center for Institutional Development in the National Council.

CIRa is pleased to present the website http://balkansheritage.eu/ created within the frame of the Project “Decentralized cooperation between regions of Lower Normandy and the Republic of Macedonia". The web site follows the purpose of the project and promotes the cultural heritage and the natural wealth of Macedonia.

 

This year CIRa will be implementing the axis 5 "Tourism" from the above mentioned project. This axis is based on results already achieved by the former axis "Sustainable Tourism". Within the same axis, CIRa will work on creating a strategy for tourism development in the Southwest Planning Region and strengthening the capacities of local authorities in the field of tourism development.
